This past Tuesday Apache Paschall, founder and director of the Exodus AAU Program, passed away of a severe heart attack after four months of battling with skin cancer. He was only 37. Being the coach of one of the highest ranked girls basketball programs in the nation, I assume he was very close to the girls. Darius Falk, one of his players confirms this. More »

As the NBA season gets underway, everyone is making predictions about who is going to win the title. The Los Angeles Clippers started to get a lot of attention when they added Chris Paul (widely known as “CP3”). In my opinion, the 2011-12 Clippers have definitely secured themselves a ticket to the playoffs, and I predict they will be NBA champs within the next few years!
On the first day of school, most kids walk in to find out that they have been placed with some old boring teacher that everyone dislikes. Well, imagine my surprise when I found out my teacher’s son had scored the first two points of the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship game!
For the past few months, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) was trying to decide whether or not to sanction the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS).
Imagine you have to get your car sent in for some repairs because it won’t start. After a few days, you get your car back and find that it does not start again. The repairman promptly amasses 15 people, who succeed in pushing the car three inches forward. Then, the repairman tells you “See, it works! You said the problem was that you couldn’t get it to move, and now it does!”
As of yesterday the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) has been ratified, officially ending the fourth lockout in the history of the NBA! The shortened NBA season will now consist of 66 games instead of the 82 originally planned for a normal season. More »
The NBA Lockout was a major obstacle for the 2011-2012 NBA season, and fans all over America were worried about the chance of there being no season at all. I know I would have been disappointed and devastated if there were no season.
Luckily, though, for this 10-year-old basketball fan, there is going to be one. Even a shortened season is better than nothing. However, now the whole issue of the asterisk begins. More »
