Falcon Frenzy: Bring the Noise! 3

The Falcons have many reasons to celebrate after clinching the NFC South Division title. As predicted, Atlanta beat Carolina 31–10 to finish the season. The birds are now the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs for the first time in 30 years. Their regular season ended with a 13 – 3 record, which earned them a bye before their first play-off game against Green Bay on Saturday.

Atlanta’s offense is lead by quarterback Matt “Matty Ice” Ryan, running back Michael “The Burner” Turner, and wide receiver Roddy White. Ryan had a great year. He got his 33rd career win, tying Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino’s record for the most wins in his first three seasons. Turner is ranked third in the NFL in rushing with 1,371 yards and 12 touchdowns. White is flying high as one of the NFL’s top receivers. He made 115 catches during the season, breaking 16-year old record held by Terance Mathis. And there is tight end Tony Gonzalez. He is tied for 10th all-time with 88 career touchdown catches and became the first tight end to catch 1,000 passes. The Falcons also have a great defense that includes defensive ends John Abraham, Kroy Biermann, and Chauncey Davis, and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux. These Dirty Birds will shut down the Packers passing game.

This will be Green Bay’s second playoff game on the road, and they have only six days to prepare for the game. The Packers have won the most World Championships, a total of 12 dating back to 1929. This means the Dirty Birds must dominate in the Dome against Green Bay’s offensive-minded team. QB Aaron Rodgers and the combination of receivers Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones and Jordy Nelson are going to be a tough challenge.

But the Falcons are 20-2 at home with Matty Ice starting. They only need to win two games at home to make it to the Super Bowl. The fans will be in a Falcon Frenzy bringing the NOISE. Those Cheese Head fans won’t stand a chance!

From the start of the season, many didn’t believe the Falcons could do it, except for Gil Brandt of Sirius NFL Radio and NFL.com. He shared in September that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the Falcons win the NFC South Division title. Still, there are many that doubt the Falcons’ talent and are betting on Green Bay to win. The Falcons can no longer fly under the radar. They must rise up and prove the doubters wrong as they rock and roll to the Super Bowl.
