Ni Hao! (That’s “Hello” in Chinese)

This is my first time in China, and it’s been awesome getting to see the scenery and interact with the people here. After a 13-hour flight from the States to Beijing, I met up with Hi Rise at the airport, and we went to the hotel to meet up with the rest of the players doing this promotional trip.  It was nice to see Slick, Hi Rise, Handles, as well as Scooter, who I hadn’t seen since training camp last October.  Friday afternoon we were allowed to just relax and catch up on some rest, because the next day we were going to the Great Wall for a photo shoot and to do some sightseeing.

The Great Wall of China was truly amazing, I couldn’t believe something that big (4500 miles) was built over 2,000 years ago and is still around in good condition.  Climbing it wasn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world to do either; just imagine climbing a flight of 500 stairs that go straight up at a 89.99 degree angle…lol...and each step is about 3 feet high.  By the time we got to the spot where we were scheduled to take pictures, a couple guys were in desperate need of water, oxygen, and a place to sit!  I now understand why it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World, because if you climb it, you wonder how in the world you made it!  The size of it alone will leave you speechless; seeing it in pictures doesn’t do it justice.

On Sunday, we did a couple of appearances at the NBA Jam Van, which is a fan experience in which people get to shoot and play other games and contests put on by the NBA. So we got the opportunity to show everybody what the Globetrotters are all about and display a little wizardry with the Magic Circle, and give them a preview of what's to come from the Globetrotters tour of China in November.

Well, it’s time for some shut eye, but until next time...ttyl!
