The bad news: The next World Cup is another four long years off. The good news? EA has released a sequel to their totally awesome FIFA 10. The big question: Has EA made enough improvements on their near-perfect FIFA 10 to make 11 (360/PS3, $59.99) worthy of a purchase?

If you've strolled through the electronics section of your favorite store lately, no doubt you got a glimpse of Sony's Move, their long-in-development answer to the Wii's motion-centric controls. Like Wii owners, PS3 owners finally get a chance to wave their hands in the air like they just do care, too.
Does it work?
After several weeks of testing--the Sports Gamer got his Move bundle early (yes, sometimes it's good to be the Sports Gamer)--the answer is a resounding "yes." It works, and works well. It only took approximately 30 seconds for me to deduce that the control here is slightly more refined than the Wii's WiiMotion Plus control.
The big question is: Is it worth mowing every lawn in the neighborhood one last time this Fall in order to accrue the amount of cash you need to buy it?

With the U.S. Open in full swing in Flushing, New York—we can practically hear the grunts all the way in Midtown Manhattan—2K Sports has announced that Top Spin 4 will be in stores early next year for the 360, PS3, and Wii. A couple years ago I concocted a little test designed to evaluate how much reality EA Sports managed to cram into their annual version of Madden. I call it--drumroll, please--the Sports Gamer Madden Test.
Okay, so maybe it needs a better name, but SGMT will suffice for now.
Anyway, here's what I do.

Madden NFL 11 is the latest installment in the “Madden” franchise. Many people feared that with so many new additions and tweaks to the game play, “Madden” was straying from its roots and becoming too complicated. Well, this year things have changed. First, the franchise mode is back and better than ever. You can do all the same things as in years past, such as draft and sign prospects and hire coaches, but now the process is much simpler, and, in my opinion, more fun. There also is an option which would allow the CPU to do all of these tasks… the only thing you need to worry about is playing the game!

Little League World Series Baseball 2010 is perfect for players who are not looking for a serious baseball game. The game is cartoonish, with features such as your players catching fire and performing better after you build your meter. The game often drifts between reality and fantasy. It is realistic because you have to do things such as switching-up pitches you throw and shifting your fielders. It is unrealistic because the players look like cartoons and you can enhance a their ability to perform in the middle of the game.
