Video games, when you really break them down, are just a series of moments. Most of the time, games are fun--duh, that's why we play them, right? But every now and then, something truly special takes place while you're playing a game. Something will happen--a moment--that you'll think about long after you power off your gaming console for the night.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 12

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is by far the greatest racing game created of its genre. When switching to new developer Criterion, many people had doubts about whether they could create a Need for Speed game with the same intensity as their Burnout series. It is safe to say that they have succeeded in all aspects.

Hey proud Kinect owners: Looking for something new and different to do with your Kinect this weekend? Deca Sports Freedom (360, $39.99) is in stores.
Of course, we've seen these types of sports compilations before. So if you're skeptical about Deca Sports Freedom, and worry that it's more of the same-old that we've seen before, that's understandable. The Sports Gamer, as you know, strongly supports a bit of skepticism when it comes to these types of games.

If you're a racing game fan, 2010 has definitely been your year so far. Awesome racing sims include Split/Second, Blur, ModNation Racers, and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, among others.
