Take the Jordan Challenge (If You Dare...) 3

In case you missed the Sports Gamer's announcement a few weeks back, NBA 2K11 is putting Michael Jordan on the box cover of this year's game instead of a current NBA super star. We're excited. You're excited. But is Jordan just box-cover eye-candy? The short answer is: Nope.

2K Sports recently revealed an all-new gameplay mode called the Jordan Challenge mode. This mode lets you step into the Air Jordans/high-tops of "His Royal Airness" as you get to replay 10 of M.J.'s most legendary games.

Keep reading to hear more about the game and watch a teaser trailer featuring Jordan dunking in NBA 2K11!

Six Days 'Til Madden NFL 11 Demo Drops! 0

When the Sports Gamer eats in all of his fancy restaurants with his fancy, sports-game-loving friends, like Professor Ulane, we usually order ourselves appetizers to gorge ourselves on until our 42-ounce sirloins arrive.

A mere six days from now, Madden fans everywhere are getting an appetizer before their main course. Of course, I'm referring to the Madden NFL 11 demo, which you can download for $0, via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network starting on July 27th.

The Wii Typepad: Up Your Trash Talking Skills 3

The Soprts Gmaer is not allways the best speler in the worlde. Since that's the case, I prefer to lay down my smack talk person to person, sitting side by side on the couch. If I'm not in the same room with my "victim"--that's what I call anyone who dares to challenge me in any sports game (Editor's Note: He's really not that good)--then I do my talking via headset on Xbox Live or PlayStation Network.

But smack talkin' on the Wii is not easy to do. The only way to do it, really, is by using the Wii Speak add-on, which almost no one owns. And, the only sports games to support Wii Speak are NHL 2K10 and NBA 2K10. So far, that's it.

So what's a smack-talker itching to do some smack talk to do?

Answer: Try the TypePad from Nyko.

NBA 2K11 MJ Box Cover: Revealed! 6

Get excited, people. Get very excited.

When 2K Sports announced that they were putting His Royal Airness on the box cover of their upcoming iteration of NBA 2K, the staff in the SI Kids office was so excited that we stood up out of our desk chairs, let our tongues hang out Jordan-style, and involuntarily did "the wave."

Hall of famer and all-time great Michael Jordan, a.k.a. Number 23, graces this year's cover, representing a departure for a series that historically has only put current phenoms--Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Chris Paul, etc.--on the front of the box. And we have to say: This box cover looks awesome.

Wii Hits the Road This Summer! 0

Summer is definitely a terrific time to get outdoors, do a little swimming, maybe build a fort or catch a bug in a jar. (Pro Tip: Just be sure to make holes in the top of the jar. The Sports Gamer learned this lesson the hard way.) But on those super hot days--I'm talking about the days when it's so hot outside the back of your neck feels like Mario hurled a fireball at it--stay indoors and get your Wii muscles in shape for Wii Games this summer.

Keep reading to find out more about the Wii Games and to watch video of Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson working out with Mario!
