A couple years ago I concocted a little test designed to evaluate how much reality EA Sports managed to cram into their annual version of Madden. I call it--drumroll, please--the Sports Gamer Madden Test.
Okay, so maybe it needs a better name, but SGMT will suffice for now.
Anyway, here's what I do.More »
Madden NFL 11 is the latest installment in the “Madden” franchise. Many people feared that with so many new additions and tweaks to the game play, “Madden” was straying from its roots and becoming too complicated. Well, this year things have changed. First, the franchise mode is back and better than ever. You can do all the same things as in years past, such as draft and sign prospects and hire coaches, but now the process is much simpler, and, in my opinion, more fun. There also is an option which would allow the CPU to do all of these tasks… the only thing you need to worry about is playing the game!More »
Little League World Series Baseball 2010 is perfect for players who are not looking for a serious baseball game. The game is cartoonish, with features such as your players catching fire and performing better after you build your meter. The game often drifts between reality and fantasy. Each day I get so much awesome stuff in the mail. I get builds of games--games that you won't be playing for a few weeks or even months from now--delivered right to my desk. Yes, everyday is Christmas for the Sports Gamer.
At least, it usually is.
Things have been kind of slow around the Sports Gamer office lately. It's the summer doldrums. Happens every year. Yeah, I know the new Madden is just around the corner. In the meantime, until Madden ships, I've been spending time with some older, awesome sports games. Both games are worth revisiting.More »
