The start of the 2010 French Open is right around the corner, and SIKIDS.com has decided to get all you tennis fans ready with a little art contest! Interested in participating? Well, you can start by downloading the template included on this page. Once you've done that, use it to draw your favorite tennis-inspired design in the space allowed (it can be your favorite athlete, a racquet, an arena... anything that has to do with tennis!), then head over to our t-shirt contest page (you can find it by clicking the "Submit Here" button on this page, or by clicking here) and upload your drawing. Beginning May 10, we'll open voting up for TENNIS T-SHIRT DESIGNS ONLY (no other designs will be accepted in the t-shirt contest area), and the designs that wrack up the most votes at the end of each week will win t-shirts, hats, backpacks and more from Babolat! The contest doesn't begin until May 10, so don't worry, you've got plenty of time. Now get drawing!

OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
HOW TO ENTER: This weekly contest begins 9:00 A.M. EST on March 15, 2010 and ends 8:59 A.M. EST on Monday, March 21, 2011. Every Monday, beginning 9:00 A.M. EST
March 15, 2010 a new weekly contest will begin. Each weekly contest will run for seven days with the final contest ending 8:59 A.M. on March 21, 2011. SI Kids reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time between 9:00 A.M. EST on March 15, 2010 and 8:59 A.M. EST on March 21, 2011. To enter go to http://sikids.com/contests/tshirt-contest and follow instructions to submit your original “T-shirt design”. A parent/legal guardian email address will be required to submit the design. Once the design is submitted, an email will be sent to the parent/legal guardian with notification that the design has been submitted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, ineligible, or incomplete entries or entries not received for any reason. Entries become sole property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. By entering, Entrant warrants that his or her entry (1) is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, (2) has not been published in any medium or (3) has not won an award.
2. JUDGING: All designs submitted will be viewed and monitored each week by SI Kids edit staff for appropriate content to qualify for entry into the contest. SI Kids edit staff will judge the qualified designs based on originality and creativity to grant approval for entry. Unlimited number of designs can be submitted. After approval, the parent/legal guardian will be notified by email that the design is approved and the design will be placed into a database lineup for a seven day waiting period. After the seven day waiting period ends, the approved design will be eligible for viewing on the website and voting in the contest that is scheduled to begin on the upcoming Monday. The following is an example of the waiting period process: If a design is approved on Wednesday, it will remain in the database lineup for seven days until the following Wednesday, and eligible for contest entry the following Monday at 9:00 A.M. EST. Designs will be randomly paired against each other in an “A vs. B” selection. Designs are randomly chosen to equally distribute voting across all designs currently in voting. A voter selects their favorite design by clicking on A or B with their computer mouse. A clicked selection is considered a vote “for” the design. Then two new design images appear and the voter reselects A or B again. The A or B selection process repeats over and over until the contest ends. The total number of “for” votes is recorded as wins. Designs are then ranked by their win percentage. Win percentage is calculated by dividing the number of recorded votes by the total voting opportunities a design receives. The win percentage is the measure used to determine a winner during the stated contest period for awarding a prize. SI Kids will monitor voting weekly to ensure the voting is distributed evenly within reason. In the event of a tie, an additional “tie-breaker” judge will determine the winner using the judging criteria above. SI Kids edit staff reserve the right to select a winner based on judgment of most appropriate design and with the highest win percentage. Every week the votes from the prior week are reset to zero in the system and a fresh competition begins. This equalizes all designs so that a new entry has the same chance as a design submitted in prior weeks to win. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. Any use of a “spider”, “robot”, or any computer program designed to modify voting data will result in the banning of the user and deletion of this data. We reserve the right to remove any user or design deemed to benefit from non-human voting. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. Winning designs will be removed from voting once winning is approved. Every Monday at 9:00 A.M.EST a new contest begins and the cycle of voting starts over. Designs that did not win the previous week will have another chance to win against new designs that are entered for the current contest. The winner will be notified by email to the parent/legal guardian the week following the end of the prior week’s competition. For example, if the competition ends on Monday, April 6 at 8:59 A.M. EST, an email to the parent/legal guardian will be sent on or before Monday, April 13 at 5:00 P.M. EST with the announcement that the design won the contest. The email will also request the mailing address. The prize will be received within 10 business days after receiving the winner’s address. The winning design may be featured in a future issue of SI Kids Magazine.
