Noah Flegel is the 2011 SI Kids SportsKid of the Year!

With his jaw-dropping acrobatic tricks, wakeboarding champion Noah Flegel soars above the rest. He is our 2011 SportsKid of the Year.

This year, the 14-year-old from Lighthouse Point, Florida, won the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation world title in wakeboarding (14-and-under division). He also took home the World Wakeboard Association’s world and national championships for the 14- to 18-year-old junior men’s group.

But Noah isn’t just a star on the water. The eighth grader is an honor roll student at North Broward Preparatory School. He also volunteers in his community, raising funds for an orphanage in El Salvador and helping cook and serve meals at a homeless shelter near his hometown.

"Not many fourteen year olds have a 900-degree spin and a world championship under their belt before they head to high school," said SI Kids Managing Editor Bob Der. "Noah’s dedication to his training and athletic excellence, balanced with a strong academic foundation and giving back to his community make him the prefect SportsKid of the Year."
