Jessie A.

Age:
12
State:
Minnesota
Sports:
Tennis, Hockey
BIO
The next great two-sport athlete might be right here. In tennis, Jessie is currently the top-ranked 12-to-14-year-old in the USTA Northern section (made up of Minnesota, western Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota) and is ranked 15th nationally in the USTA Tournament rankings. She finished third at the USTA Winter National championships in January. But Jessie is just as cool on the ice. She led Minnesota’s Team Reebok Elite AAA team to the title at the 2010 International Cup, where she was named tournament MVP. She’s only in seventh grade, but Jessie is set to skate with the top line on her high school team starting next month. Jessie has a 4.0 GPA and is part of the Highly Gifted program. She also volunteers regularly at places like Operation Hometown Gratitude, which prepares packages for overseas military.

Jake Z.

Age:
13
State:
New York
Sports:
Football
BIO
Jake is a model athlete in more ways than one. The 12-year-old plays quarterback and linebacker and led his team to the Pop Warner New York State championship. In July 2010 Jake was invited to attend Football University in Boston, Massachusetts, an invite-only camp. Based on his performance there he was chosen to attend Top Gun University in Richmond, Virginia, as one of the 42 best seventh grade quarterbacks in the country. Jake was a Little Scholar All-American two seasons in a row. When he found out that his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer he rallied his team around her, and they dedicated their season to her.
