Last season, Auburn quarterback Cam Newton put up dominant numbers, won the Heisman Trophy, and led the Tigers to the national championship. But controversy also followed him: His dad, Cecil, had allegedly asked for money in exchange for his son’s college commitment. The NCAA has been coming down hard on programs and players who don’t play by the rules. Newton was cleared of any wrongdoing, but will his legacy be hurt by the cloud of suspicion?
