You might have heard that Tigers ace Justin Verlander was named the American League's Most Valuable Player, becoming the first starting pitcher in 25 years to win MVP.
I know you Brewers fans are bummed out. You got knocked out of the playoffs by your hated rival Cardinals, who then went on to win it all. And even worse, superstar first baseman Prince Fielder is threatening to leave as a free agent!

Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: Mariano Rivera is great. Amazing. Wonderful. A sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Famer. If time-traveling martians came to Earth and challenged the human race to a baseball game with world domination on the line, and we could choose any human being in the history of the universe to be the closer for the human team, it would undoubtedly be Mariano Rivera.
What I'm saying is Rivera is incredible. Get it? Got it? Good.
There are some things in life that we can all agree on. One is that today is Opening Day, and we're all excited. And another is that Ichiro is awesome. He can hit, he can run, he catches everything, and he has a cannon for an arm. And according to this song, he's going to try his hand at being an astronaut (keep reading to give it a listen!)...
A few pitchers are lucky enough to throw a no-hitter in their career. Roy Halladay threw two…and both of them were last year…and one of them was a perfect game…and the other was in his playoff debut! Are you kidding me!?!?
Amazing accomplishments like these make Halladay an aficionado on the art of the no-hitter. They also make him perfect for the cover of Major League Baseball 2K11. That’s because 2K Sports will once again award $1,000,000 to the first person to pitch a verified perfect game in MLB 2K11. (Gamers can start trying to throw their perfectos on opening day, April 1, 2011.)
I caught up with Halladay on the set of his upcoming commercial for 2K11 to talk about real no-hitters, video game no-hitters, and the Phillies potentially historic pitching staff. Keep reading to hear what he said...

We’re only two league championship series away from the World Series. Who will wind up in the Fall Classic? Keep reading to find out…

The baseball playoffs are just around the corner and lots of teams are gearing up for what they hope is a championship run. But one team that is certainly going to be around for the late October games is the TBS studio crew of Ron Darling, David Wells and Cal Ripken Jr. I caught up with the baseball lifers in Grand Central, where the guys were unveiling the TBS Times Square shuttle train that will run throughout the baseball playoffs this year. Here’s what they had to say about the playoffs, each other and of course, the Baltimore Orioles!!!
