red bull 2013 photos

When it comes to action sports, nobody goes bigger than Red Bull athletes. They turn in big-time performances and pull big-time tricks to push the limits of their sports. And that usually results in some wild video and great photography — like the images selected by the company as the best sports images of 2013.

The folks at Red Bull revealed their list of the top 13 photos "from the world of Red Bull" today, and the selections are pretty amazing. Here's what I think are the five best images from the group:

By Paul George, as told to Christina M. Tapper

Paul George made a lot of noise during his third season in the NBA. The 23-year-old swingman for the Indiana Pacers had career highs of 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game on his way to earning his first All-Star selection and winning the NBA's Most Improved Player Award. George made even more noise in the postseason, helping Indiana reach the Eastern Conference Finals by averaging 19.2 points per game.

But long before his rise in the NBA, George was a quiet kid who grew up in Palmdale, California. He spoke with SI KIDS about battling his sister in basketball, the time he played a game in jean shorts, and mastering chess.

nhl power rankings week ten boston bruins

It's safe to say the 2013-14 NHL season is in full swing. The hits are getting harder, the scoring getting wilder, and the rivalries are getting nastier. If you need proof, just look at Saturday's Boston-Pittsburgh game, their last regular-season matchup this season: Two concussions, two suspensions, and a tightly played 3-2 Boston win. Meanwhile, in the West, the Ducks and Blackhawks are looking for the inside track on the conference lead. Anaheim beat Chicago in their first meeting, but there's still a lot of hockey to play.

NCAA Football Power Rankings — Week 15 1

ncaa power rankings week 15 florida state

Throughout the college football season, while the top 10 kept changing, we could always count on Alabama being the Number 1 team in the nation. Until last Saturday, that is. Auburn pulled off the most shocking and exciting win of the entire season by beating the Crimson Tide. With one second remaining, cornerback Chris Davis returned a missed Alabama field goal from the back of the Auburn end zone for a touchdown. The epic game-winner gave Alabama its first defeat of the year and knocked it off the top of the rankings.

This season has given us so many unbelievable moments, and even more could be on the way. This weekend’s conference championship games should provide more excitement, and there will be plenty of drama as the bowl matchups are decided. This promises to be another crazy weekend!
