For the first time the National Hockey League will play a 48-game season instead of an 82-game season. The Washington Nationals' Bryce Harper had a pretty impressive first season in the major leagues. He was selected to the All-Star team and won the National League Rookie of the Year. The honors didn't stop coming this offseason — Harper was one of seven players in the running to be on the cover of the new MLB13: The Show video game. The other players were Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants, CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees, Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers, and Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Harper ended up finishing fifth behind the winning cover athlete, McCutchen, but since Harper is still only 20 years old, there is plenty of time for him to make it on the cover in the future.
