NBA fans are getting everything they want for Christmas this year, with a quintuple-header of basketball action tipping off the 2011-12 season on December 25th. But the fans aren't the only ones getting cool Christmas presents this year. It looks like Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony will be rushing down to the tree on Christmas morning and unwrapping some exclusive holiday sneakers from Jordan Brand. And we've got a preview of the shoes right here!
Well football fanatics, this is the end my friends. Due to some holiday scheduling quirks, the Professor won’t be around for the last couple weeks of the season. I will leave you with these rankings as my last of the year. It makes sense this way, too, going out after one of the more unpredictable weeks of the season. There were more upsets this past weekend than we see in most NCAA Tournaments.
But all of the surprises didn’t shake up the rankings as much as you may have expected. To clarify: a team can beat another team and still sit below them in the power rankings. That’s because these rankings reflect the big picture, not just week-to-week results. The Packers may have lost to the Chiefs, but that doesn’t mean the Packers aren’t still a top five NFL team. Which spot in the top five exactly? You’ll just have to keep reading to find out.
So happy holidays and a happy new year and I’ll see all of you in 2012 for the playoffs!
Two of these three statements are true, can you guess which ones? 1) The Green Bay Packers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. 2) The Indianapolis Colts beat the Tennessee Titans. 3) Cats love dogs. If you think you have the NFL figured out, let me know what your formulas are, because I sure don’t have many explanations for what went down in Week 15. Let’s try to figure it out anyway. Here we go…
The NBA is back!!! WHOO!!! WHOO!!! WHOO!!!
Sorry, deep breath.
OK, now that I got that out of the way, I have even more good news to share with b-ball fans. In honor of the NBA tipping off on Christmas day, I have the perfect present for basketball fans: the SKLZ Pro Mini Hoop System.
Huge fans of the power rankings out there may have noticed I was not around last week to rank the teams. That means it’s been two weeks since I last sorted through the NFL hierarchy. A lot can happen in 14 days in the NFL, so fasten your seatbelts ladies and gentlemen, there’s been a lot of movement. Keep reading to see which teams landed where…
Sorry for the late posting, the Professor has – scratch, scratch – poison ivy and could barely touch a keyboard yesterday. Have you ever had – scratch, scratch – poison ivy? It’s the WORST. Imagine watching this year’s Colts and Rams play against each other for 48 straight hours, and you have an idea of how miserable it is having – scratch, scratch – poison ivy. But now that I’m covered in bandages and ointment, I’m back and I’m ready to talk football, so let’s get down to all the action from Week 14.
What's up, loyal readers and fellow football fanatics. I have some tough news to pass along: there will be no First and Goal or NFL Power Rankings this week. I know that's a lot to process, so I'll let you wipe your tears away before I continue.
OK, you done crying? Now comes the fun part. For one week only, I'm handing over the reigns to you, my readers.
