Favre Returns to Minnesota, Announcement Set for Wednesday

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Brett Favre is back in Minnesota, right on schedule.

For the second year in a row, the quarterback who spends his summers on the verge of retirement was driven to Vikings headquarters on the Tuesday following the team's first preseason game. Just like last August, news helicopters followed his vehicle from a local airport and dozens of fans and media gathered at the entrance to Winter Park to greet him.

Tebow Scores on Final Play in NFL Debut

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Fans booed. Flashes went off. Tim Tebow had arrived in the NFL.

With a much better haircut and a bruising touchdown, no less.

The rookie quarterback from Florida made his first preseason appearance Sunday night, and got into the end zone on the final play of a 33-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals .

Pennant Race Report: August 12

I went to the dentist this morning. He said that my teeth looked amazing. He also said that I was doing a good job flossing. Flossing of course is important because even though your teeth are close together, plaque can get into even the tiniest spaces. What does this have to do with baseball? Well, some of the division races are so close it will take dental floss to separate the winners and the loses. Here’s the skinny on how the playoff contenders are looking this week.
