Chargers Pick off Peyton, Hammer Colts

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- San Diego's defense gave Peyton Manning another night to forget.

The Chargers picked off Manning four times, returning two for scores, in a 36-14 win Sunday that handed Indianapolis its most lopsided home loss since the four-time MVP has been the team's starting quarterback. The last time the Colts lost by this much at home was Sept. 14, 1997, when Seattle won 31-3.

Falcons Top Packers on Late Field Goal

ATLANTA (AP) -- Don't even mention a third straight winning season to the Atlanta Falcons.

Their goals are so much bigger than that.

The Falcons stayed atop the NFC when Matt Bryant kicked a 47-yard field goal with 9 seconds remaining Sunday for a 20-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers , one of the teams trying to chase down Atlanta in the conference standings.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Cam Newton took an improbable victory lap around Bryant-Denny Stadium, savoring his most audacious performance yet in this season of triumph and controversy: leading Auburn back from 24 points down against the defending national champs.

One more showing like that, and it's Newton and the second-ranked Tigers who'll be getting a shot at the title.
