I may be the baseball expert here at SI Kids but I am also a tennis fanatic. I always enjoy the Australian Open, The French Open and Wimbledon, but of all the majors, my favorite is the U.S. Open.

As the last grand slam of the year, it gives players a chance to make a statement and end on a high note. Read on for a quick guide to the five men and five women to pay attention to this year...

Steve Nash: (Not So) Smooth Operator 8

Courtesy of Reuters

What do you do if you're a two-time NBA MVP stationed in Beijing, China (rebuilding a basketball court and hosting a coaching clinic), and you want to play a pick-up game without being noticed?

If you're Steve Nash... you go undercover (cue Jason Bourne theme!).

Take a closer look at that pic. That's Nash in the Captain Jack Sparrow-bandana, the Kareem Abdul Jabbar goggles, and the...

The Stinky Five: August 31 1

They say that one is the loneliest number, and that’s certainly true for four of the five teams in this week’s Stinky Five. They all played a bunch of games in the last week, but managed to win only one.

The Jordan Brand

This one's for all you Jordan die-hards out there.

On September 5, the Jordan Brand will pay tribute to the awesomness that is Michael Jordan by releasing the JORDAN MOMENTS COLLECTION, a three-pack of souped-up Jordans.

Each sneaker in the collection is tied to a different moment of Jordan's career: the Air Jordan High Moments (left) is a modified version of the first Air Jordan ever released (waaaaay back in 1984), the Air Jordan 2009 Moments (center) is the last Air Jordan to be released, and the Jordan 6 Rings Moments (right) feature design elements from each pair of Jordans worn by MJ during his six NBA Championship wins (Air Jordan's VI, VII, VIII, XI, XII and XIII).

Click the "More" tab for up-close-and-personal pics of each sneaker.

Weekend Baseball: What to Watch 1

I’m just going to toot my own horn here for a minute. Last week I resisted the urge to suggest tuning into the Sabathia/Beckett throw down on Sunday night and instead predicted that Pedro’s return to New York, as a Phillie, would be the best of the day. If you took my advice you skipped an off night for two aces of the AL East but managed to see the second game-ending unassisted triple play in MLB history. If not, maybe you should wise up and take my advice this time around.

Question of the Week: Females in Baseball 0

I guess the readers of the Dugout Dispatch are an enlightened bunch. Almost every response I got to last week’s question (If a female athlete was good enough, do you think she should be allowed to play in MLB?) fully supported the idea. Read on to see my favorite responses, and a brand new question for you to answer this week.

Team Jordan gave a small group of editors an early look at its Holiday sneaker/apparel lineup late last month, and your's truly was among those lucky enough to be invited...
