SI Kids RADIO: 11/20/09 Weekend Edition 136

I've got good news and bad news.

The bad news? Professor Ulane is out of the office this week (he's interviewing the 2009 Sports Kid of the Year... probably as you read this!). As a result, he was unable to check-in for our Weekend Edition argument.

The good news? The Fantasy Wizard was more than willing to slide into the Prof.'s very large shoes and pick up the slack... which means the Weekend Edition of SI Kids Radio is alive and well! In case you missed any of this week's biggest sports stories, The Wiz and I talk about LeBron James (and his big mouth?), Bill Belicheck (and his faulty play-calling?), baseball MVP's (Kate Hudson?), and a whole lot more. We even had a visit from a special guest... though I won't spoil his identity. So what are you waiting for?! Click the play button below and check out our back-and-forth!

Greinke Wins Without Wins 9

It was announced yesterday that Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke won the American League Cy Young award.

This is awesome for two reasons: (1) Greinke had a remarkable season and totally deserved recognition; and (2) Greinke's award challenges the idea that the number of wins a pitcher has in a season is a testament to his talent.

Torre Shouldn't Have Yankee Fever 9

You may be hearing about the Swine Flu epidemic, but it’s actually Yankee Fever that has everyone in its grip.

Everywhere I turn people are wearing brand spanking new Yankees hats. Every store I walk past is selling shirts and sweatshirts celebrating the World Series. There are even commercials on TV that aren’t selling anything; their only purpose is to congratulate Derek Jeter and his teammates.

I didn’t realize it was so contagious at first. But I knew it was serious when I discovered that Joe Torre had caught Yankee Fever too.
