Will the Heat or Spurs Win the NBA Finals? SI Kids Staff Makes Bold Predictions!

The 2013 NBA Finals begin tonight in Miami between two of the premier franchises in the league. This series will be the battle of the Big 3s, with Miami's defending champion triumvirate of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh taking on San Antonio Spurs threesome of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli.

The stakes are beyond just this year's title, with both Duncan and LeBron competing to further their legacies. Duncan will be going for his fifth title and the recognition as the best player of his generation. And LeBron needs to keep winning championships to put him in the discussion with Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Bill Russell as the greatest players of all time.

But we at SI Kids were less concerned about those huge implications, we wanted to pick who would win the title this year. Here are our predictions! Make sure to put yours in the comments below!

Christina T.Heat in SevenLeBron JamesAfter a slow start, the Spurs will exhaust all talent (even Tracy McGrady!) to push the series to a Game 7. The Heat, however, will win, sparing fans (and reporters) from Coach Gregg Popovich's potentially awkward one-word celebratory interview answers.
Dante C.Spurs in SevenTim DuncanThe Heat, coming off a physical seven-game series with the Pacers, will be no match for the well rested Spurs. Tim Duncan will lead the Spurs to its fifth championship and earn his fourth Finals MVP, but not before apologizing to his teammates for losing Game 6. "Sorry fellas. I realized I had arms AND legs!"
Annmarie A.Spurs in SixTony ParkerTim Duncan comes back for 2013-2014 season and finally breaks the even year curse. Go Popovich!
Marguerite S.Heat in FourLeBron JamesAfter ten days of rest, the San Antonio Spurs spend the next four basketball games chasing the sizzling Miami Heat. Heat sweep.
Kirsten S.Heat in SevenLeBron JamesAfter a finals victory LeBron promises to take those attending to Disney World. When he is told there are 20,298 people attending he decides to make it EuroDisney thus regaining his status as most hated player in the NBA.
Jeremy R.Heat in SixLeBron JamesChris Bosh will not lead the Heat in any major statistical category, but he will have the highest number of awkward celebrations after made baskets.
Andrea DubsSpurs in SixTony ParkerEnjoying their long break between series, the Spurs take a team vacation to Disney World. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili can't get enough of the Tea Cup ride, but after hundreds of spins, they can't see straight in Games 1 and 2. Luckily, they feel much better after heading home to San Antonio, where they win three in a row before closing it out in Miami. They immediately return to Disney World to celebrate.
Gary G.Heat in FiveLeBron JamesRemember how everyone was wondering "What's wrong with Dwyane Wade?" Well, D-Wade looked like his old self in Miami's Game 7 pummeling of Indiana. The Heat front court struggled against the Pacers, but that was mostly because Roy Hibbert is a really big guy with big arms and big hands and big feet and big legs. He overpowered Chris Bosh and company. Tim Duncan is great, but he's not as big as Hibbert. The Heat can deal with him. And LeBron James is a baaaaaaaad man. (And by bad, I mean good.) Miami slips up in Game 2, but then wins all three games in San Antonio.

I want the Spurs to win but I think that the Heat will win in 7.

The Spurs will win the title in 7 games. They got the talent and the NBA's best coach

The Spurs will win the title because they have their own big three in Parker, Duncan, and Ginobli. Splitter makes a great addition and they will win if they work together to stop LBJ and D-Wade. Spurs in 6 or 7. Go Spurs!!!
