Review: MOGA Mobile Gaming Controller

Alright, I have one more review for you before New Year’s. Do you or someone in your family have an Android phone? If the answer is no, then that’s too bad. They’re much better for gamers than the iPhone.

If the answer is yes, then you have to get the MOGA Gaming System. Okay, technically you don’t “need” anything besides, like air, food and water. But you really, really want the MOGA gaming system. And if you get it, you’ll be really happy you have it.

The MOGA Gaming System is basically a controller that attaches to your phone via Bluetooth. If you play games on a touchscreen, you know how frustrating it can be. This makes gaming on an Android phone approximately 1 million times better.

Now, with products like this I always expect that they’re going to be feel cheaply made, not really like a real controller should. That’s not the case here. You get that good depth on the buttons, and the game I played (NFL Pro 13) was incredibly responsive to the controller. It will feel a little bit different in your hands because it’s flatter than your average controller, but you’ll get used to it.

It uses two AAA batteries. I’m not a big fan of that, since I HATE having to dig around for batteries. But it’s a small price to pay. And I wish it had a D-pad. Maybe it’s just because I grew up on Sega Genesis and its giant D-pad, but I always find myself wanting a D-pad on any controller.

Those are small gripes for a product that really is worth getting.
