Yes, it's only preseason, but there are guys fighting for roster spots and playing time once the games actually count. Jeremy Evans, in his third year with the Jazz, made a flashy argument last night that he's got the athleticism to play more than the handful of minutes per game that he's averaged in his first two seasons. When Ronny Turiaf of the Clippers took an outside jumper, Evans leaped so high he practically blocked it with his armpit. Then he gathered himself, grabbed the ball and slammed it home on the other end. But he wasn't done there. He sprinted back on defense and made another sick athletic play, breaking up a pass. I hope we see more out of this from Evans this season.
