2010 NFL Mock Draft 362

For more on the NFL Draft, click here to listen to our Draft podcast!

I'm not exaggerating when I say: This is the deepest and most talented Draft class to enter the NFL in more than 20 years! There are potential franchise players throughout the first round, and even some stars available after that. So how do I see Round 1 playing out on April 22? Read on to find out...

1 St. Louis Rams
Rams
SAM BRADFORD, QB, Oklahoma
I don't necessarily agree with this pick, but all signs point to the Rams taking Bradford. I don't see him as a future superstar because (a) He's coming off a major injury to his throwing shoulder, and (b) he tore up weak defenses with a great supporting cast as a sophomore, but struggled against Florida in the BCS title game. That said, I do think Bradford will be a decent starting quarterback for a while. I just don't think he'll be a special player.

2 Detroit Lions
Lions
NDAMUKONG SUH, DT, Nebraska
People have a tendency to overthink when it comes to college seniors. I'm stunned that many scouts are picking Gerald McCoy over Suh, and I think it's because McCoy is a bit "newer" and more exciting. But for my money, Suh is the best defensive player to come into the draft since Mario Williams. He's a top-notch run-stuffer, and anyone who thinks Suh can't rush the passer like McCoy is seriously mistaken. There's a reason he scored better than McCoy in just about every test at the combine.

3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers
GERALD McCOY, DT, Oklahoma
In a lot of years, McCoy would be the best player in the Draft. This year, Suh is the only guy I have rated ahead of him. McCoy is a capable run-stuffer, but he really excels at penetrating the pocket and wreaking havoc on quarterbacks.

4 Washington Redskins
Redskins
RUSSELL OKUNG, OT, Oklahoma State
The 'Skins would love to grab Bradford, but I don't think he'll be available. And really, left tackle is their biggest immediate need. Former All-Pro Chris Samuels has officially retired, and Okung could step in as their new starter for the next 10 years. After quarterback, left tackle is the most important position on offense.

5 Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs
ERIC BERRY, S, Tennessee
The Chiefs have plenty of needs, so they might as well take the best player left on the board. That would be Berry, a ball-hawking safety who often gets compared to Ravens superstar Ed Reed. I think those comparisons are right on.

6 Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks
BRYAN BULAGA, OT, Iowa
Seattle could go in a lot of different directions with this pick. They need a new franchise quarterback and they've desperately needed a replacement for future Hall of Fame left tackle Walter Jones, who's been injured the past two seasons and could be retiring. Bulaga is clearly the second best offensive lineman after Okung. He's a mauler in the running game, but needs a little help with his pass protection technique. The only question is whether the pass-first Seahawks would rather take quarterback Jimmy Clausen and find a more pure pass-protector later in the first round.

7 Cleveland Browns
Browns
DEZ BRYANT, WR, Oklahoma State
This Browns offense is desperate for playmakers, especially at wide receiver. Bryant plays a lot like Texans star Andre Johnson, big, powerful and tough to drag down. He'll fill the hole left by Braylon Edwards, who was traded last October to the Jets.

8 Oakland Raiders
Raiders
JASON PIERRE-PAUL, DE, South Florida
Raiders owner Al Davis loves great athletes, and Pierre-Paul is the best athlete in this draft. Don't be fooled by his college stats (6.5 sacks). Pierre-Paul is raw after playing just one season of major college football, but he has a combination of size and athleticism that few pass rushers can match. With some good coaching, he could become one of the league's most dangerous pass rushers.

9 Buffalo Bills
Bills
JIMMY CLAUSEN, QB, Notre Dame
The Bills need a new hope for the future, and that hope could be Clausen. A lot of NFL coaches and scouts consider him too cocky, but Clausen entered Notre Dame with a ton of hype (he was once called the "LeBron James of high school football") and overcame two rough seasons to put up big numbers last year. Clausen might be gone by the time the Bills pick, or Buffalo could opt to sign Michael Vick as their new quarterback instead.

10 Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars
EARL THOMAS, S, Texas
So a guy who wore Number 12 at Texas does go in Round 1, but it's not Colt McCoy! Thomas was just starting to scratch the surface of his tremendous talent as a sophomore last season. His instincts are amazing; Thomas does a great job reading quarterbacks and is always in the right spot when defending the pass. He needs to bulk up a little bit more to play the run in the NFL, but he'll get there. This would be a major upgrade to one of the NFL's weakest secondaries.

11 Denver Broncos
Broncos (from Bears)
DAN WILLIAMS, DT, Tennessee
This is a bit of a reach for Denver, but they're in desperate need of a nose tackle to anchor their 3-4 defense. Nose tackle is one of the most important positions in a 3-4 (it's the spot Vince Wilfork plays for the Patriots and Casey Hampton mans for the Steelers). Williams is the kind of stout, hard-working run stuffer to step in and give the Denver D a major boost.

12 Miami Dolphins
Dolphins
SERGIO KINDLE, DE/LB, Texas
The Dolphins need a pass rusher after cutting Joey Porter, and Kindle is the best pass-rushing OLB in this draft. Kindle stepped into Brian Orakpo's role at Texas last season and was dominant. Orakpo was one of the NFL's best defensive rookies for the Redskins last season, and Kindle should have the same kind of impact in his rookie year.

13 San Francisco 49ers
49ers
C.J. SPILLER, RB, Clemson
The Niners have been looking for a running back to compliment Frank Gore, but Spiller will give them much more than that. He's the draft's most dangerous big-play threat, capable of breaking big plays as a runner, a receiver, and a return man. He's too good for the Niners to pass on in this spot, and will give a big boost to San Fran's weak quarterback talent.

14 Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks (from Broncos)
DERRICK MORGAN, DE, Georgia Tech
Morgan doesn't have the kind of upside that South Florida's Jason Pierre-Paul has, but he's a very hard worker who will battle his way to quite a few sacks in the NFL. The Seahawks will need that with former All-Pro pass rusher Patrick Kerney on his way out after two disappointing seasons.

15 New York Giants
Giants
ROLANDO McCLAIN, LB, Alabama
There are a lot of question marks being raised about McClain. A lot of scouts think he isn't athletic enough to play middle linebacker in a 4-3 defense, which requires a sideline-to-sideline playmaker. I think that's nuts. McClain is one of the smartest players in the draft. Maybe he's not as athletic as a guy like Patrick Willis (then again, what linebacker is?), but McClain knows how to get to the ballcarrier and is a sure tackler. He's also smart enough to adjust defenses on the fly; he's like a coach on the field. I think he's the best inside linebacker to come into the draft since Willis.

16 Tennessee Titans
Titans
JOE HADEN, CB, Florida
The Titans have had some of the weakest cornerback tandems in the league in recent years. Cortland Finnegan is decent, but the Titans badly need a second cornerback. The Darrelle Revis comparisons that Haden has been getting are waaaaaaaay out of line. But he has a nice blend of size and speed and should be a solid starter with Pro Bowl potential down the line.

17 San Francisco 49ers
49ers (from Panthers)
TRENT WILLIAMS, OT, Oklahoma
The Niners will continue to collect talent to surround their so-so crop of quarterbacks. Williams has great athleticism. While he may be a little too short to play left tackle, he could become a very good right tackle and has experience at center and guard too.

18 Pittsburgh Steelers
Steelers
BRUCE CAMPBELL, OT, Maryland
Campbell suffered through an injury-filled career for the Terps, but he blew scouts away with his athleticism at the combine. When healthy, he's proven to be a mauling run blocker with great potential as a pass protector. That should make Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the offense happy.

19 Atlanta Falcons
Falcons
RICKY SAPP, DE/LB, Clemson
The Falcons addressed their need at cornerback by signing Dunta Robinson, and now they need a playmaker off the edge. That's where Sapp comes in. He struggled through a knee injury last season, but at 100 percent Sapp has the athleticism to move from defensive end to linebacker, and get to the quarterback as a pass rusher. He could give Atlanta this year's version of young Redskins star Brian Orakpo.

20 Houston Texans
Texans
KYLE WILSON, CB, Boise State
The Texans were already shaky in the secondary, and then they lost top cornerback Dunta Robinson in free agency. Wilson is the second-best corner in this draft class and has the skills to be a big-time playmaker.

21 Cincinnati Bengals
Bengals
CARLOS DUNLAP, DE, Florida
On talent alone, Dunlap is one of the 10 best players in this draft. But he'll drop because of concerns about his work ethic and some off the field problems. The Bengals have never shied away from taking high-risk players, so they'll look to Dunlap to provide pressure as an edge pass rusher next year.

22 New England Patriots
Patriots
EVERSON GRIFFEN, DE/LB, USC
The Patriots desperately need a young player who can rush the quarterback, and Griffen fits the bill. He's a great athlete for his size (6' 3", 270 lbs.) and was just scratching the surface of his potential for the Trojans last season. He has the kind of size the Pats want in their outside linebackers.

23 Green Bay Packers
Packers
ANTHONY DAVIS, OT, Rutgers
The Packers need a lot of help on the offensive line. Davis is a risk because of a poor attitude he showed at times in college, as well as some weight issues. But he has All-Pro potential if he straightens himself out. He could start at right tackle for the Packers next year. And in another year or two, Davis could take over for veteran Chad Clifton at the most important position on the line, left tackle.

24 Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles
MAURKICE POUNCEY, C, Florida
The Eagles need some help on the interior of their offensive line, and Pouncey can step in as their new starter at center of either guard spot. He's the best center prospect to come into the draft in years.

25 Baltimore Ravens
Ravens
BRANDON GRAHAM, DE/LB, Michigan
The Ravens have a history of taking the "best player available" when their pick comes up, and Graham would fit the bill. He's a bit shorter than the average pass rusher, but he's absolutely relentless. He could take over for Terrell Suggs in a couple of years.

26 Arizona Cardinals
Cardinals
SEAN WEATHERSPOON, LB, Missouri
The Cardinals lost their best defensive player when linebacker Karlos Dansby signed with Miami. Weatherspoon played outside linebacker in college, but he has the toughness and smarts to play inside linebacker for the Cards. He's the kind of smart leader this defense needs.

27 Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys
MIKE IUPATI, G, Idaho
Iupati is a little bit raw, having been raised in American Samoa and playing his college ball at a relatively small school. But his blend of size, toughness, and athleticism are off-the-charts. He has a chance to develop into one of the better guards in the NFL.

28 San Diego Chargers
Chargers
RYAN MATHEWS, RB, Fresno State
LaDainian Tomlinson is gone, and the Chargers may end up trading Darren Sproles. But even if Sproles isn't dealt, they'll need a bruising runner to handle carries between the tackles. That's where Mathews comes in. He's a punishing north-south runner who lit up defenses for Fresno last season.

29 New York Jets
Jets
JARED ODRICK, DT/DE, Penn State
The Jets might have some holes to fill at defensive end. Shaun Ellis is 32 and coming off an injury-filled year, and Marques Douglas might leave as a free agent. Odrick played defensive tackle in college, but he has the athleticism to play end in a 3-4 defense like the Jets'. He's a versatile, high-effort talent who would be a great fit in Rex Ryan's D.

30 Minnesota Vikings
Vikings
TERRENCE CODY, DT, Alabama
The Vikings don't have many holes to fill, so they should look a little further into the future. Massive veteran defensive tackle Pat Williams is 37 and may not have many seasons left. Cody could study under Williams in 2010 and then take over his starting spot. Mount Cody is a great talent, but he needs to be subbed out of the game too frequently.

31 Indianapolis Colts
Colts
BRIAN PRICE, DT, UCLA
Price may not last this long, but if he does, the Colts would do well to grab him. He's a quick 300-pounder who can cause a lot of problems for opposing offenses by blasting through the interior line.

32 New Orleans Saints
Saints
CHAD JONES, S, LSU
The Saints are still considering whether or not they want to re-sign Darren Sharper. Even if they do bring back their star safety, he's 34 and doesn't have a lot of years left. Jones was a two-sport star at LSU, showing top-notch athleticism as a safety and an outfielder for the Tigers' outstanding baseball team. He'd be a great prospect for the Saints to develop as their next free safety.
