Now that I've left the SIKIDS.com Wizards Academy and set off on my own, my weekly column needs a name. It was always called "The Duane Way" back when I was hanging out with The Wiz over at the Fantasy Mailbag, but I was never a huge fan of that name (I never told The Wiz because he came up with it, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings). So I was thinking... do you guys want to come up with a new name for my column? If you do, send me your suggestions! I can't offer the winner any real prizes, but he or she will be able to tell all their friends that they're responsible for re-naming the BDW's blog! I'll even let you drop a few words of wisdom in next week's column.

THE DUANE WAY (FOR NOW...)

I've been reading over your emails from last week, and I've gotta admit that some of you guys are really good at sniffing out the inexpensive talent spread throughout the SIKIDS.com fantasy league. In fact, you guys are SO good, I've decided to feature some of your Low Budget All-Star picks in my weekly column! From now on, not only will I be listing my own personal Low Budget All-Stars, I'll also be including some of the best picks made by you guys.

Thanks to Zak, John, Joel, Ryan and Antonio for sharing their Low Budget All-Stars with us this week. And remember, the LBAS's are the best cheap players your fantasy dollars can buy. If you've spent most of your cash on big-name players and still need to fill out some holes on your roster, you can add one or more players from this list and benefit from top-notch fantasy production at a low, low price. Got it? Let's go!

SP
Ervin Santana ($5,200,000), Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: "Ervin Santana is the second-best pitcher in Major League Baseball so far. Pick him up now and no doubt you will get over 20 points per start. With a 6-0 record and an ERA of 2.63, he is a must have pitcher."
-Zak, Canada

Jair Jurrjens ($3,800,000), Atlanta Braves: "What about Braves' starter Jair Jurrjens (120 points)? He's gotta be a Low Budget All-Star, right?"
-John

RP
Ryan Dempster ($4,300,000), Chicago Cubs: "I found another player who is listed the wrong way! Ryan Dempster, the Cubs pitcher, is listed as a reliever. Not only is he a starter, but he is playing like an ACE (4-1, 2.71 ERA)!!!!"
-Joel, Pennsylvania

Jonathan Sanchez ($2,600,000), San Francisco Giants: Sanchez isn't as dependable as Dempster, Zack Greinke and some of the other "relievers" we've discovered this season (he hasn't made it out of the 5th inning in his last two starts), but he's super-affordable and racks up decent strikeout numbers (46 on the year).

C
A.J. Pierzynski ($3,900,000), Chicago White Sox: Here's what spending almost four million dollars on Pierzynski will get you: three home runs, 15 RBI, a .303 batting average and 97 fantasy points. Sound like a good deal?

Chris Snyder ($3,300,000), Arizona Diamondbacks: The Arizona backstop's batting average has climbed over 60 points in his last 10 games, from .210 to .276.

1B
Conor Jackson ($4,400,000), Arizona Diamondbacks: The only first basemen with more fantasy points than Jackson's 149 are Lance Berkman ($7,100,000; 220 points), Derek Lee ($6,600,000; 173), Albert Pujols ($7,500,000; 165) and Kevin Youklis ($6,000,000; 163).

Erik Honske ($2,700,000), Tampa Bay Rays: A poorer man's Conor Jackson, he doesn't hit for average like the Arizona slugger, but he can mash a bit (seven homers).

2B
Rickie Weeks ($5,000,000), Milwaukee Brewers: His batting average is below the Mendoza line (.188, to be exact), but Weeks has still racked up 127 fantasy points. That's fifth-most among second baseman.

Erick Aybar ($3,300,000), Los Angeles Angels: As good as you'll get for less than four million dollars.

3B
Melvin Mora ($4,500,000), Baltimore Orioles: The versatile utility-man has shown some surprising pop this season (5 HR, 21 RBI).

Alex Gordon ($4,900,000), Kansas City Royals: He's driven in seven runs in K.C.'s last six games.

SS
Ryan Theriot ($4,600,000), Chicago Cubs: A throwback shortstop of sorts. He doesn't hit with much pop (one dinger), but he's an on-base machine (.416 OBP).

Christian Guzman ($3,500,000), Washington Nationals: Racked up 20 points last week. Still, you may want to keep an eye on him, as he only drove in a single run over that span.

OF
Ryan Church ($4,400,000), New York Mets: "Ryan Church is definitely a Low Budget All-Star. He only costs 4,900,000 and is doing great this year."
-Antonio, NJ

Fred Lewis ($2,500,000), San Francisco Giants: "I see Fred Lewis (104 points) as a real steal of the fantasy world. He has taken over the offense nicely after the departure of Barry Bonds, and I see him becoming an All-Star in a year or so."
-Ryan, NY

Total cost of this week's Low Budget All-Stars: $62,900,000
