Heavy rain has caused delays to the start of field events Thursday morning in the Olympic track and field competition at National Stadium. The women's 20-kilometer walk started as scheduled at 9 a.m. local time, but men's javelin qualifying groups, women's high jump qualifying and decathlon long jump and shot put were all delayed by between 30 minutes and one hour.
