Britain's Ainslie wins Finn sailing gold,
QINGDAO, China (AP) -Britain's Ben Ainslie has taken his third straight Olympic sailing gold with a commanding win in the final medal race for Finn class sailors, and America's Zach Railey celebrates silver during his games debut. Guillaume Florent of France takes the bronze. Ainslie, 31, was guaranteed at least silver on overall points heading into Sunday's medal race, and only the 24-year-old Railey could have threatened his gold. Ainslie has previous golds from 2004 and 2000, as well as a silver from 1996, and came on strong in the Qingdao medal final, which counts double. The British sailor lead all the way, while Railey took sixth in the 10-boat fleet, securing enough points to clutch his silver. Florent finished fourth in the final, to take the bronze medal. ![]() |
