BEIJING (AP) -Britain's Bradley Wiggins has won his second straight Olympic gold medal in the men's 4,000-meter individual pursuit.

Wiggins defeated New Zealand's Hayden Roulston in Saturday's final.

A three-time world champion in the event, Wiggins finished in 4:16.977, about 2 1/2 seconds ahead of Roulston - who eliminated American phenom Taylor Phinney in the quarterfinal round.

Britain's Steven Burke defeated Russia's Alexei Markov in the bronze-medal race.
