BEIJING (AP) -Britain's Bradley Wiggins won his second straight Olympic gold medal in the men's 4,000-meter individual pursuit Saturday, defeating New Zealand's Hayden Roulston in the final.

Wiggins, a three-time world champion in the event, finished in 4:16.977, about 2 1/2 seconds ahead of Roulston - who eliminated American phenom Taylor Phinney in the quarterfinal round.

Britain's Steven Burke defeated Russia's Alexei Markov in the bronze medal race.
