In just under three seasons, Jonathan Vilma of the New York Jets has developed into one of the most impressive young linebackers in the NFL. Heading into Week 15, the 2004 Defensive Rookie of the Year was leading the Jets in tackles (97). We caught up with Vilma in New York City recently as he was playing Burger King's Pocketbike Racer game as part of Xbox Live's "Game With Fame" series.

Q. What do the Jets have to make the playoffs?
A. Obviously we need to win. But it's important to take it one game at a time. If we can do that, and go 10-6, we should be all right.

Q. Who is the toughest quarterback to sack in the NFL?
A. Peyton Manning. He throws the ball away before you can get there. Even with all the scrambling quarterbacks, he's the toughest. Scrambling quarterbacks try to stay in there and make things happen. Peyton will just get rid of it.

Q. What's your most memorable video-gaming experience?
A. I was seven years old and all I wanted for Christmas was the Nintendo when it first came out. My parents kept saying they couldn't get it for me because it cost too much. And then for Christmas, sure enough, I got a Nintendo. That was the best Christmas moment I ever had.

Q. Do you play video games with anyone from the Jets?
A. Nah. They're too good. I've heard them talk. They spend like eight, 10 hours playing. I would say Kimo Von Oelhoffen or Laveranues Coles [are the best Jet gamers]. They're both pretty good.

Q. Do you believe in the "Madden Curse"?
A. There seems to be some sort of correlation between the guys on the Madden [cover] and how their seasons go. I don't want to say it's a curse. But it seems pretty ironic. I'd definitely think about it [if they asked me to be on the cover]. You know what? I might just have to say no. I'm not even going to lie to you.
